Walnut Butter
80% single-origin Kagzi walnuts from Kupwara with roasted peanut, stone-ground for 24 hours. No palm oil. Contains peanut and walnut.
The problem with peanut butter
Peanut butter's been ghosting you on omega-3.
It's cheap, it's tasty, it's got protein. It just brings almost no omega-3 to breakfast.
Peanut fat is mostly oleic acid and omega-6, with effectively no ALA omega-3. Eating more of it every day doesn't close that gap. Walnuts carry the most ALA of any nut, by a wide margin.

The scoreboard

Peanut is under 0.01 g. USDA FoodData Central reference values for raw nuts, not a test of any jar.

Why Nutta is the new peanut butter
Peanut butter, but make it walnut.
Roasted peanuts with Kashmiri Kagzi walnuts stone-ground right in. We didn't ditch peanuts. We ditched the idea that peanut butter had to stop at peanuts.
It tastes like the peanut butter you grew up on, costs far less than walnut butter, and every spoon carries walnut. Nutta is the easy switch. If omega-3 is what you're buying for, that's the job of our Walnut Butter, at 80% walnut.

Yes, the oil separates
It's not broken. It's honest.
That layer on top is walnut oil doing what walnut oil does when nobody adds palm oil to hold it down.
We don't use palm oil or hydrogenated fat, so between uses some oil rises to the top. It isn't a fault and nothing has gone off. Stir it back in with a spoon, right to the bottom, and it's smooth again.

A walnut gets one harvest a year.
Everything is worked back from that window. The husks split in September, the valley shells and dries through October, and what comes out of those weeks is what we grind from for the next twelve months. There is no second run.
- Apr – Jun Bloom and set Catkins open; the green husk forms around a soft kernel.
- Jul – Aug The kernel fills Oil builds inside the shell. Nothing is picked yet.
- Sep Harud begins The husk splits and the nut falls. Orchards are worked by hand.
- Oct Shelled and sun-dried Hand-shelled in the village, dried on open rooftops in valley sun.
- Nov – Dec Graded and stored Sorted by kernel colour and size, then held cool and dry.
- Jan – Mar Pressed in small runs Stone-ground cold, jarred and nitrogen-flushed as orders come.
One valley. One harvest a year. We grind from it in small runs rather than milling to a warehouse schedule, which is why a jar tastes of the season it came from.

Where it comes from
Our walnuts have a hometown.
Kupwara sits in the north of the Kashmir Valley, around 1,800 metres up. The walnut trees here were not planted for a brand. Families have looked after them for generations, and the Kagzi walnut, named for its paper-thin shell, is what the valley is known for.
We buy directly from about 15 family orchards around Handwara and make every jar ourselves, in Handwara. Harvest comes once a year, in autumn, and we grind from it through the year in small runs.
What we can't tell you yet: which orchard your jar came from. Walnuts from our partner families are ground together, so we won't put a farmer's name on a jar we can't trace back to them.

Gucchi.
Foraged, never farmed.
Gucchi, the Kashmiri morel (Morchella), grows wild on the forest floors of the Kashmir Himalayas for a few short weeks after the spring snowmelt. Ours is never farmed: every cap is found and picked by hand by foraging families who have walked these forests for generations.
A forager may walk an entire day for a few hundred grams of fresh morels, and it takes roughly 10kg of fresh gucchi to make 1kg dried. That is the whole of the price. Always cook morels fully. Never eat them raw.
How It's Made

The texture is unlike anything I have bought in a supermarket. You can taste that these are real Kashmiri walnuts — a sweetness and depth that does not exist in regular peanut butter.
My kids eat this every morning on toast and I feel genuinely good about what I am feeding them. No junk, no sneaky sugars. The fact that it is from Kashmir makes it special.
I have tried every nut butter brand in India. Faim Farms is not even in the same category. The saffron was also impeccable — you smell the difference from the moment you open it.
Never thought walnut butter could taste this good. Pure, clean, nothing fake about it.
Stone-ground is actually different. You can taste the difference from supermarket stuff.
Ordered the bundle. Saved money and tried everything. The saffron is top class.
Every jar sold, the farmer comes first.
The Kagzi walnut orchards of Kupwara have fed families for generations. We believe the majority stakeholder in every jar we sell is the farmer who grew it, not the middleman and not the shelf. That's why we source directly, pay fairly, and name our orchards.

India's Best Walnut Butter — Straight from Kashmir
Faim Farms is India's leading walnut butter brand, founded in 2025 and headquartered in Handwara, Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir. We make nut butters built on single-origin Kagzi Walnuts, a thin-shelled, distinctly Kashmiri walnut variety grown at 1,800 metres above sea level in the Himalayan foothills.
Every jar is built on Kashmiri Kagzi Walnuts, with a short ingredient list printed in full on the pack. No palm oil. No hydrogenated fat. No preservatives. No artificial flavours or colours. Where a blend needs an emulsifier, it is declared by name and INS number on that jar rather than hidden behind a category word. The walnuts are sourced directly from 15+ family orchards in Kupwara, cold stone-ground for 24 hours, and sealed within 10 minutes of grinding.
On sugar we are specific rather than sweeping: our Unsweetened Walnut Butter carries no added sugar at all. Our sweetened jars carry a small, declared amount, never refined white sugar, high-fructose syrup, or artificial sweetener. Whatever is in the jar is printed on the label of that jar.
Faim Farms is a DPIIT recognised startup, JK Startup certified, and a recipient of the ICAR Pusa Grant for agricultural innovation. Our products are available on Amazon India and our website faimfarms.com, with free delivery above ₹800 across India.
Why Faim Farms Walnut Butter?
- Single-origin walnuts: Every walnut comes from named family orchards in Kupwara, J&K, never imported, never blended with commodity walnut. The roasted peanut we blend in is sourced from Gujarat and declared by percentage on the pack
- Kagzi walnut variety: Sweeter, less astringent, and high in oil content, which is where the ALA sits
- No palm oil: Zero palm oil or hydrogenated fat, in every jar
- Stone-ground: Stone-milled for 24 hours, in small batches
- Omega-3 rich: Walnuts are the richest tree nut source of plant-based ALA Omega-3 by a wide margin, roughly 2.5g per 28g of walnut kernel, against about 0.3g for pecans, the next highest. Our jars are 80–85% walnut, which works out at roughly 2.0–2.1g of ALA per 28g of butter
- FSSAI licensed: Manufactured at a licensed facility (Lic. No. 11024999000061)
Walnut Butter vs Peanut Butter
The gap on Omega-3 is not close. Walnut kernel carries roughly 2.5g of ALA per 28g; peanuts carry effectively none. Our Walnut Butter is 80% walnut, so a 28g serving of the jar delivers about 2.0g; the Unsweetened, at 85%, about 2.1g. Walnut butter is also richer in polyphenols. Peanut butter wins on protein and on price, which is a fair trade for some people. If you want both, our Nutta blend exists precisely for that. But if Omega-3 is what you are shopping for, peanut butter cannot compete on it.
About Kagzi Walnuts from Kashmir
Kagzi walnuts grow in the Kashmir Valley between 1,600–2,100 metres altitude. The cold Himalayan winters increase their Omega-3 content; the altitude slows growth and concentrates flavour. The paper-thin shell (Kagzi means "thin as paper" in Urdu) allows more of the tree's energy to go into the kernel. This is why Kagzi walnuts are noticeably sweeter and less bitter than the commodity walnuts most Indian nut butters are made from. Walnuts also grow in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the Kagzi variety is simply most strongly associated with the Kashmir Valley, where cold nights during kernel fill favour high oil content.
